AVANTE has signed a commercial agreement with Brilliantel, a South African telecommunications and ICT company, to provide the billing and operational support platform for Brilliantel’s planned MVNO launch in South Africa.
The project is centered on B2B and B2G market segments, where standard MVNE models are often not sufficient. Brilliantel’s planned market approach requires more tailored commercial and service capabilities, including enterprise-specific billing logic and product structures designed for corporate and public-sector use cases.
One example is sponsored billing, where a corporate customer covers an agreed part of an employee’s mobile usage, while the remaining amount is billed directly to the individual subscriber. Capabilities of this kind are expected to form part of Brilliantel’s differentiated value proposition in the MVNO market.
The hardware platform for the project has already been secured, allowing implementation to move forward with infrastructure readiness addressed from the outset. The project will be delivered under an OPEX-based model designed to reduce upfront capital requirements and support an efficient launch structure.
Brilliantel enters the mobile market with an existing business, an established customer base, and active relationships in the enterprise and government segments through its broader connectivity and ICT services portfolio. This gives the company a practical commercial foundation for entering the MVNO space with a focused market proposition.
For AVANTE, this agreement reflects continued demand for flexible BSS/OSS platforms that can support operator models beyond standard MVNE configurations, especially in cases where enterprise-oriented commercial logic is a core part of the service proposition.
