The Moonshot Catalyst program is designed to solve significant, industry-wide challenges with commercially viable and innovative solutions. The winning project addresses one of the most persistent obstacles for Communications Service Providers (CSPs): modernizing monolithic, outdated, and poorly documented legacy environments. Avante’s solution introduces a GenAI-powered "smart factory" model to dismantle these complexities.
The winning "ODA in a Box" platform operates as a GenAI-powered smart factory to:
- Extract business logic from archaic codebases.
- Redesign applications into modular, ODA-compliant components.
- Generate forward-engineering artifacts, including Open API definitions, service designs, and test cases.
- Support cloud-native deployment using TM Forum’s Open Digital Framework (ODF).
This automated approach drastically reduces manual effort, accelerates delivery timelines, and bridges critical knowledge gaps by interpreting undocumented legacy logic. By creating a scalable and sustainable engine for transformation, the platform enables CSPs to decommission old systems, slash technical debt, and adopt new technologies with greater speed and governance.
The initiative also actively contributes to the evolution of ODA by mapping newly generated microservices to the latest TM Forum standards, feeding crucial insights back into the ODA catalog to benefit the entire industry.
